RIS is a New Delhi–based autonomous policy research institute that specialises in issues related

Omnispace and GateHouse SatCom have successfully modeled the performance of the 5G new radio (NR) non-terrestrial network (NTN) waveform in an NGSO environment. The Omnispace 5G NTN system, operating in low-earth orbit (LEO), will seamlessly integrate with terrestrial networks to deliver a #ubiquitous connected experience for commercial 5G smartphones and #IoT devices globally.

Mr Anil Prakash, Director General, SIA–India said the Centre is evaluating how users can get easy access to satellite connectivity, which is akin to Apple's feature on its latest iphone14
"At present, any use of satellite connectivity in the consumer space is governed by the Global Mobile Personal Communication by Satellite (GMPCS) clause under the Department of Telecommunications, which an individual needs to follow to subscribe to satellite connectivity services in India." he said.

SIA-India Participation at IAC and 27th UNOOSA Workshop |
SIA-India participated at the 73 International Astronautical Congress in Paris. Hosted by the French space agency CNES, IAC 2022 with motto "Space for all" has attracted more than 6,500 participants from more than 80 countries.
SIA-India is amongst the Indian delegation at the 29th Workshop on Space Technology for Socio-Economic Benefits: "Access to Space for All: Bridging the Space Divide" conducted in partnership with the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) Paris, France, 16-17 September 2022, in conjunction with the 73rd International Astronautical Congress [IAC].
India's relations in the space sector can improve exponentially by extending cooperation and opening its doors to Europe, Middle East and Asian countries. Governments' diplomatic efforts will complement government intervention and enable private players, MSMEs, and start-ups to be strategic partners to the countries.
Professor Hosamani Ravikumar from University of Agriculture Sciences, Karnataka is representing India in The Workshop and presenting "Utility of hyper gravity as a novel tool in inducing reliable phenotype/s for improving crop plants – A relevance to terrestrial agriculture"
